Dames! Guns! Dames with Guns!

If you are lucky enough to live in Chicago, you MUST check out the Noir City Film Festival!! It is coming your way August 13 through 19 at the historic Music Box Theater. The festival showcases 35mm prints of ten film noirs ranging from well known classics like Joseph H. Lewis’s Gun Crazy (1950) to the lesser known, but recently restored Cry Danger (1951) (Dir. Robert Parrish).

And if you happen to hail from the west coast like Lady Noir, you can always check out the Noir City Film Festival every January in San Francisco at the Castro Theater. Eddie Muller has run this amazing festival for 8 years now, and has done a phenomenal job curating the selection of films. Sometimes he even wrangles up the only copy of a noir classic in existence to show on the big screen, making it a once in a lifetime opportunity!!
